Chapter Summary Edit
The Dogman and the crew are scouting, riding and scouting. Black Dow bemoans how far the once famed Named Men have fallen, wasting their time scouting for Prince Ladisla’s soft ragtag division where Bethod isn’t. Threetrees stares him down, reminding him Bethod isn’t one to show up where he’s expected.
Soon, they spy some of Bethod’s scouts. Threetrees decides to take out the three scouts, which end up being five. The dead scouts have little gear, so Dogman is sent to find the larger crew these are scouting for. What he finds is a much larger crew —hundreds of campfires; Bethod’s whole damn army has eluded Lord Marshal Burr and Prince Ladisla is rear guard no longer.
