Puranti is the fifth of seven parts of Best Served Cold.
Chapter Summary[]
In time, Monza and Cosca split The Thousand Swords, feigning a disagreement between the pair, and for two years they feigned to fight each other for rival employers, while making money from both. However, eventually Monza got a visit from her latest employer Grand Duke Orso of Talins. He had learned of this phony war, and insisted that it end. Encouraged by Benna, at Afieri her supposedly counterfeit charge turned into a real rout of Cosca's half of the company. By evening, she was sitting in Cosca’s old captain's general's chair.

- Before this we knew Monza had betrayed Cosca, and we've had many hints that Benna was an amoral snake, particularly from Ganmark in the last chapter. And now we see that it was Benna, who worked behind Monza's back, until she had no choice but to follow through with his ruthless but highly profitable plan to get rid of the man who gave them a home and taught her to fight and both of them to read.
