|“|| Shivers: What do the dice say?|
Friendly: Dice say nothing. They are dice.
Shivers: Why roll ’em, then?
Friendly: They are dice. What else would I do with them?
Chapter Summary Edit
Friendly and Shivers hide in the shadows as Gobba and a prostitute, walks past with two guards. With no clever plan, Friendly simply walks up to them and kills the two guards with his cleaver and knife, and Shivers knocks Orso's bodyguard out cold.
They take him to an isolated smithy, where Monza waits uneasily. The pair carry the senseless Gobba between them, and lock him to an anvil. As they wake him up, Gobba gapes in horror as he recognises Monza. After some verbal foreplay, Monza sets to work on him with a hammer, crushing his hands. Wincing in pain herself from the exertion, she loses balance and lands on top of Gobba. Her embarrassment stokes her rage again, and she bashes his leg, his chest, strangles him until he turns purple and finally crushes his skull in.
A long moment of quiet descends, as she turns away from Gobba’s obliterate corpse, sucking in air. Shivers finally breaks the silence, asking her how achieving vengeance feels. Feeling nothing but emptiness, she orders Friendly to dispose of the remains.
Monza turns to Shivers. He knows too much, she really should kill him, but she’s been impressed with his work. With her hand behind her back gripping a knife lest he refuse, she offers him more silver to stay on and kill the other six people on her list. His reluctance soon evaporates when she tells him how much. Next up, a banker.

Locations and Terms Edit
- Friendly's mental disorder is left ambiguous, but he's probably autistic. He struggles with social interaction, rarely expresses any kind of emotion, and is a compulsively obsessed with numbers.
- Monza doesn't feel any satisfaction when she takes revenge on Gobba. When we get revenge we don't actually feel better, but we believe we would have felt even worse if we hadn't gotten vengeance.
