Chapter Summary Edit
Bayaz and his band of heroes reach the foot of the Broken Mountains. It’s walking now. Ordered to cut loose the horses, Jezal watches in shock as Ferro kills his horse; she isn’t wasting the meat on some sentimental nonsense. Logen shoulders the box taken from the Maker’s House, and they tramp up the slope. After a while, Jezal and Logen stop at an overlook, and agree, it really is a beautiful view. Jezal then admits to Logen that when he goes home, he plans to marry Ardee. Logen slaps him on the back with approval.
Later in the day, Logen’s mind is rather distracted tracking every movement of Ferro arse as she climbs the mountain in front of him. They stop to rest at a stream, with Logen flirting with a boyish charm. He hops into a pond and starts catching fish with his bare hands. Logen tosses fish after fish onto to the bank, until he loses his balance, sending him into the water. As Bayaz catches up with them, he jokes perhaps Ninefingers has met his match.
Jezal asks him why the thing they seek is at the edge of the world? The First of the Magi recounts the tale of Juvens and Kanedias’ deliberation over what to do with The Seed. Although Kanedias wanted to study it, they agreed to put it beyond reach in Shabulyan. Bedesh ordered the Spirit of the island to only to yield it to one with Juvens’ staff, which Bayaz now carries.
That night, Jezal wakes to hear tussling beside him; only Logen and Ferro fucking beneath the blankets. Jezal feels anger and revulsion at their lack of decorum, but mainly his own loneliness.

- It's a curious title to the chapter, since The High Places means something very different later in the series. I'm not really sure it's intentional.
